Welcome. Healing begins with understanding, compassion, and support. I specialise in helping individuals overcome the effects of childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence, trauma, anxiety, estrangement, and other emotional challenges.
My journey into therapy began after a long career in education. A significant personal experience led me to seek support, and what followed was, quite simply, life-changing. Through therapy and hypnotherapy, my inner world transformed — and with it, my sense of who I was and what was possible.
That experience planted a seed. I wanted to understand the "magic" — as one client once beautifully described it — that can happen in the therapy room. So I retrained, and I have not looked back.
My training has spanned eight years, with one more to go before I reach the highest level of qualification in the field — a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. That level of commitment is not just about letters after a name; it is about bringing you the most thoughtful, research-informed, and skilled support I can offer.
I know what it feels like when your mind seems to have a life of its own — when you cannot quite find the words for what is wrong, but you know something needs to change. If you are reading this, you have already taken the first step.
The next one is simple: give me a call and let's talk. Together we can begin to figure it out — and you too can find the peace of mind that comes from recognising that you are, and have always been, the expert in yourself.
My approach is client-centred, collaborative, and evidence-based. I prioritise building a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship. I utilise a range of tools to support our understanding of your challenges. For example:
Genograms to map out family systems.
Timelines to outline historical events that can help us understand your resilience to psychological distress.
Mood cards to assist when the words cannot be found.
Art for when words are not enough.
Talking therapy to investigate and explore.
Hypnotherapy to help overcome mental blocks.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for persistent thoughts or behaviours.
Psychoeducation using neuroscience and biology to understand the physiology of psychological distress.
I will focus on working in ways that best suits you, always in collaboration.
I am a Norwich-based counsellor and psychotherapist with an MSc in Psychology and a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am currently in the final year of a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at doctoral level — which means the therapy you receive is grounded in the latest psychological research and evidence-based practice.
Over the course of my career I have accumulated several thousand hours of clinical experience delivering trauma-informed therapy. I have a specialist background in working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence, and I understand the depth of care, safety, and expertise this work demands.
I work integratively, drawing on person-centred, attachment-informed, and somatic approaches, and I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) — an evidence-based therapy with a strong track record in trauma recovery.
